But friendships are freely entered into, freely given, freely exercised.

If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone who does what is right has been born of him. I John 2:29

Happy Holiday! God Bless the USA!

I was born on July 4, 1776, and the Declaration of Independence is my birth certiticate. The bloodlines of the world run through my veins for I offer freedom to the oppressed. I am many things and many people. I am this nation. Over 250 million living souls and the ghosts of millions have died for me.

l am Nathan Hale and Paul Revere. I stood at lexington and fired the shot heard around the world. I am George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Patrick Henry. I am generals lee and Grant. I am Abraham Lincoln, Susan B Anthony, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I remember the Alamo, the Maine, and Pearl Harbor. When freedom called, I answered and didn't come back until it was over-over there. I left my heroic dead on Flanders Field, on the Rocks of Corregidor, on the bloody hills of Korea, and In the steaming jungles of Vietnam. I am the fighting spirit of the native American and the victorious forces of Desert Storm.

l am the Brooklyn Bridge, the rolling wheat fields of Kansas, and the ever watching hills of Vermont. l am the Grand Canyon, the coal mines of Pennsylvania, and California Golden Gate. I am Independence Hall, the Monitor ,and the Merrimac. l am forest, field, mountain, and desert. I am the quiet villages and the cities that never sleep. l am the ballots dropped into the box, the roar of the crowd, and the voices of the choir in the chapel.

You see me in the lights of Christmas and hear me in the strains of "Auld Lang Syne" as the calendar turns each year. Yes, l am this nation and these are the things that I represent I conceived in freedom and, God willing, in freedom I will spend the rest of my days. May l always possess the integrity, the courage, and the strength to keep myself unshackled. I will remain the citadel of freedom and the beacon of strength for the world. This is my goal, my hope, my prayer.

Prayer For Today: Dear Lord, we are living in a day when forces seem bent on filling our hearts with unbelief. Help us to become more watchful over body, mind and soul of self and others while it is day, so that we, your children, may never depart from you. Amen.

Suggestion: You can tell more about a person by what he says about others than you can by what others say about him.>

Prayer For Today: O Lord, lonely are the ways we walk and long the road unless Thy Friendly Presence accompanies us. Our hearts need to feel that "inner burning" as we recognize you in the breaking of bread and in all the simple human incidents along the way. Amen.

Suggestion: Listen with regard when others talk. Give your time and energy to others; let others have their own way; do things for reasons other than furthering your own needs.
